Inflatable seals

Inflatable seals are flexible seals that expand when inflated or filled with air or another medium, creating a tight, firm seal between two surfaces.

How they work:
When not inflated, these seals lie loosely against the sealing surface. As soon as air or another pressurised medium is introduced into the seal, it expands and adapts to the surrounding surfaces, creating a secure and tight seal.

Properties of inflatable seals:
1. flexibility: they can adapt to irregular or changing gap sizes, making them particularly versatile.
2. sealing performance: they ensure a reliable seal, even with pressure differences, and prevent the ingress of liquids, gases or particles.
3. versatility: They are suitable for applications with gaps of different sizes or moving parts, as they can adapt dynamically by inflating.

Applications:
Inflatable seals are used in a variety of industries, including:
– Medical technology: In sterilisation chambers or isolation system doors.
– Automotive industry: For sealing test facilities or air-conditioned rooms.
– Aerospace: For airtight seals in aeroplanes or spaceships.
– Mechanical engineering: In airlock systems or on industrial plant doors.

Inflatable seals are manufactured according to individual customer specifications. These seals can be manufactured endlessly or with end plugs.
