Tolerances

Tolerances for extrusion products according to DIN ISO 3302-1.

General:

Soft rubber profiles, round cords and hoses require greater tolerances than molded parts (deformation during vulcanization). For soft elastomer grades with high elasticity (eg natural rubber) close tolerances are difficult to reach. The demand for specific properties makes compliance with the lowest tolerance classes usually impossible. The same applies to compounds below 50 Shore A, and certain specialty elastomers. The higher the required accuracy, the larger are manufacturing and control outlay and therefore also the costs. For this reason, the tolerance class 1 (see below) are made only where it is really essential for the application.
